About

Mythic Heart Theatre

Performing artist Kristi Williamson and Visual artist Kathryn Oliver have collaborated over the past 16 years to create unique ritual theater experiences. Their productions rooted in dance, drama, music, mask-work, visual art and film, weave archetypal stories, timeless literature, mystical poetry and the beauty of the natural world.

By engaging our “mythopoetic” imaginations, Kristi and Kathryn hope that their work can help to navigate troubled times by inspiring fresh ways of seeing and participating. They feel that the universal truths patterned through myth and poetry can help to offer insights for self-reflection towards growth and healing.

Together they create these unique theater experiences. Kathryn envisions and directs the projects beginning with the creation of the script. She weaves poetry, prose and music together, then creates and combines the visual components which include films, masks, sets and costumes. Kristi brings the script to life through song, dance, acting, and mask work. She also shares in the creative development and the direction of each production.
